How the Finals will play out

TBC

Over a month has past and there's still no word on whether basketball will be able to be played at Level 2. Originally, all games were supposed to be completed by 31st May, but that's in doubt with restrictions still in place on bubbles and students staying at home.

After careful consideration, The Summer Series Grand Finals deadline has been extended to 31st June to allow for a winner to be determined. This will allow College Sport Wellington to kickstart, as well as a venue for the day to be secured. A number of scenarios have been designed for every possible outcome, and these will be announced once New Zealand moves into Level 2.

This also impacts the Skinny Fizz MVP awards. The winners will be announced before The Summer Series Grand Finals through the Sunset podcast. However it will be a 30 minute live broadcast that'll be available to all viewers around the country. This can only take place once we move into Level 2 and can have some room to move.

At the moment, the best case scenario is we move to Level 2 in just over a week and can begin to plan a venue for these games that will also double up as College Sport Wellington matches. We will not be pushing the deadline any further than this as we must continue to plan for other Summer Series events.
